Address Hygiene For Your Automotive Marketing

Why You Need Address Hygiene For Your Automotive Business

Address hygiene can be defined as the purity and precision of a company’s postal addresses on its mailing list. This form of hygiene is directly correlated with the effective sending and delivery of direct mail. Thus, ensuring that your client address listing is clean will improve the efficacy of your direct marketing campaign. Good hygiene of your addresses will result in a small number of mails not being delivered, while poor hygiene will lead to a higher number of rejected mails because they were never delivered.

As an automotive dealer, making the best of your marketing campaign will require you to employ the use of working approaches that will ensure better ROI returns for your endeavors.

However, one thing that most people forget to take care of is the hygiene of their data. Let’s face it, people will move, sell their cars or even die. With this comes change. Improving the hygiene of your data, more so if you want to see better returns on investment from your mailing lists, it is important that you work on cleaning up your mailing-list addresses.

Management Of Your Mailing-List Addresses

With movement and changes taking place all the time, data changes. People change their minds, decide to move on or leave all together. When such changes take place, keeping up with them will be important if your marketing campaign is going to be successful. Improving the hygiene of your addresses will help increase the response rate and decrease costs each time you mail your clients. At National Auto Data, we understand this and that is why we wish to help our clients by offering exemplary data hygiene solutions to improve the efficiency of their marketing endeavors.

To help improve your data hygiene, especially when it comes to mailing list addresses, we offer services that are aimed at updating all the essential information for improved solutions. Some of our address solutions include:

Proprietary Change Of Address

Our one-of-a-kind PCOA process takes the management of standard address changes to the next level. This process utilizes change of address data files, providing information that would otherwise not have been easily processed using other approaches. An individual’s move is processed at a more individual level for better accuracy.

Deceased Suppression

Our systems are able to flag and remove individuals who are already deceased from your company’s internal data before you start mailing. This way, ineligible addresses are no longer a part of your mailing list.

DMA Suppression

Under this option, we flag and remove all Do Not Mail listed individuals; keeping you from spending time and money sending mail to people who won’t receive your mail.

Address and Name Verify

Under this option, we help you verify consumer presence before mailing. Maybe the person you are planning on mailing moved. By verifying their name and address information we ensure that their info is as current and as accurate as possible.

By addressing such issues as this, improving the hygiene of your mailing-list addresses becomes easier and subsequently leads to better ROI for your marketing endeavors. For more information on address hygiene, contact us today.

Auto Service Leads – New Buyers

I was running some quick numbers on new records coming into the database. In just the last 30 days we have over 60,969 New Car buyers that purchased a 2014-2015 vehicle. Now you may not think that is alot of data. However these are upto three times verified already. And they are compliant records.  Considering all that they have been thru already they are GOLD records!

Gold I say? Why might you ask?

In the first sixty days these New Car buyers will be buying everything from Weather Mats, Tint, Car Alarms, Car Seats, New Insurance, Accessories, and even possibly changing who they do service with. This is a great opportunity to find out who else bought a Ford or Chevy or any other make and are not currently doing service with your dealership.

How do these records play out by type?

New Truck Owners = 5,740

New Car Owners = 19,776

New SUV Owners = 14,283

New CrossOver Owners = 17,709

New Van Owners = 2,017

How Authentic Is Your Data?

Authenticity is something that each of us depends on. We seek authenticity! If you are going to buy a Cadillac CTS-V you will not settle for a Audi S5, a BMW M3, or a cardboard cut out! And if you are going to buy a NEW CTS-V you expect it to be a NEW CTS-V. The need for authenticity is present and required from the relationships we develop to the brands with which we choose to do business with.

So back to the opening question. Is your auto data authentic? I am referring to that recent conquest mailing that you had your marketer acquire a ‘list’ for. Or that service mailer that your service department depends on. Why is this important?

The Shelby Act and the DPPA are clear that utilization of the DMV, or State Registration information is unlawful for consumer marketing application. There is no way around it! Some “providers” will say that they only get their data from ‘proprietary transactional sources’. Many times these ‘proprietary transactional sources’ are simply a provider that said “hey my data is all good!”. The provider in an effort to build up their numbers takes the source in for face value and bam! “We have the biggest number of records!” “Our data out performs all other!”

Here no evil, say no evil, there must be nothing wrong.

Here no evil, see no evil, there must be nothing wrong.

There are no loop holes, the previously mentioned restrictions do not apply to a certain select states. It applies to all states.

An authentic auto data provider is only going to source from valid and verified non-registration related sources. Some ‘Authentic’ sources include insurance, warranty, and valid service provider data sources (such as aftermarket sales and service data). It will not include Title Data, DMV Data, or data that a source provider can not verify or directly compile.

The most expensive portion of a direct mail campaign is not the data. It is the postage. Hygiene should be a at the top of the list for an authentic data provider. National Auto Data True Auto Owner file is processed through numerous hygiene related processes, records that do not past the test of authenticity are removed from the file. By not keeping records that are more than likely not accurate, we don’t need to compete with others based on quantity. On a monthly average there are over 4 million additions, deletions, and modifications. We make every effort to validate our records by 3 sources, this may remove some records. But it leaves us with authentic and valuable automotive marketing data. We are one of the few sources that can Guarantee with a letter of Indemnification that the data has not been sourced from any “Non-Authentic” sources.

Authentic data insures that you are compliant, it helps make sure that your offers are relevant and timely. Contact us today to see how we can help you!
